The pickling is finally finished, with over 90 quarts in all. Last night we pickled the smallest batch with a total of 8 quarts. Doug did most of the work as usual; slicing, stuffing jars, making the pickling juices and boiling the jars. I prepped the cucumbers, put dill in the jars, stuffed jars and put the lids and rings on the jars. Ashley helped with the spices, stuffed the jars and heated the jars before putting them in the canning pot.
Now we can relax and enjoy the pickles all year long. Does anyone need a jar of pickles?
