Thursday Update
Happy New Years Eve day everyone. I hope everyone has a happy and safe time tonight. We will be eating pizza and chicken with Wanda & Mark. We will also watch a movie or two. I hope I can stay awake. I tried hard to sleep in today, I was up at 10 til 6 and made myself go back to bed. I didn't get up again until almost 8, so hopefully I'm good for tonight.

Tuesday Update
It feels like Monday, but it is Tuesday. Just 2 days of work this week and then I'm off until the new year. It seems like 2009 went very quickly, I can only imagine 2010 will go even faster.

Sunday Update
Wow this week went too fast, the nest is empty again. I wish all three kids were still here:(
Thomas, Diedre and Ashley made it safely to their destinations yesterday. Chloe took her sister Georgia up to Cedar Falls yesterday to stay with an Aunt that evidently only Georgia likes. We hope to see Chloe here for supper today. I'm not sure if Ross will be with her.
Chloe and Ashley both had a rocky start before leaving yesterday. Chloe had left her lights on and needed her Daddy to jump start her car. Ashley and I went to Casey's to gas up her car. She was taking the gas cap off and was having a very difficult time of it. I tried as well and even asked her if this was the way she normally turned the cap to take it off. She said yes and it had happened one other time and she could not remember what she had done. We ended up calling Doug to come to help us. He walked up and was able to open it with little effort. It turned out we were turning the cap the wrong direction. Ashley said, "Oh yeah, the last time this happened I had a brain fart on which way to turn it too!" I should have remembered what Doug always says, "Righty tighty, lefty loosey."
I have another turkey in the roaster this morning. We are actually thinking about just eating Christmas dinner leftovers for supper tonight and putting away some turkey for my famous Turkey Tater Tot Casserole sometime this week and Cream of the Holidays Soup next Sunday. The second Sunday in January will be my birthday, not sure what I will want for soup that day.
This morning the Christmas tree will come down for another year.

Saturday Update
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, I know I did. We did everything very different this year, opening gifts in the afternoon instead of in the morning. I think everyone was happy with everything they got.
It was a very hectic day getting ready for the evening meal and I want to thank everyone involved for their help. There was more than enough food and sweets for everyone. It was kind of crowded and hard to get everyone in to any one room. I'm sorry if I did not get to talk with everyone a lot, but it was a fun evening over all. Ross and Bobo left before we got to the desserts, they need to come back to have some of the trifle that Chloe and Doug made. It was delicious.

Doug and I received some awesome gifts from the Jordan's. After most of the company left we watched the new Harry Potter movie, but I kept dozing and eventually fell asleep entirely. I was too tired from staying up late the night before, getting up at 6 AM Christmas morning and all the hustle of the day. Plus no one should ever expect me to be able to stay awake during a movie if the lights are off. This is one movie I will have to watch during the day when I am not so tired.

Christmas Eve Update
Yesterday was very busy; work at 7, off work at 4, came home and had pizza with the family. After supper I washed dishes while Ashley baked sugar cookies. We decorated them together which was lots of fun. Thomas picked up Diedre to come over for a little while.
Wanda & Amber stopped by with our second turkey which will be cooked on Saturday for the Cream of the Holiday's Soup. After the cookies were decorated we watched 'Christmas in Connecticut', Diedre was only able to watch a little of it because she and Thomas had to get Laura from work and give her a ride home.
Thomas went to bed after the movie. I stayed up to watch 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas & 'The Penguins of Madagascar Christmas Caper'. As long as I am writing so randomly, "Does anyone know how someone like the Grinch got such a nice dog as Max?"

Wednesday Update
I cannot wait for the work day to get over today. Thomas got home last night. We all ate chili leftovers and watched The Hangover, Ashley had not seen it yet. This was Doug's 4th time seeing the movie. It is such a fun movie, you always see something new that you missed the 1st or 2nd time. You know what I mean...
I hope today goes fast at work and slow after work. This is the first Christmas in a while with all three kids in town. I am going to try to get a picture of all three of the kids by the Christmas tree.
Mao is confused and I think a bit excited, I guess he did not nap yesterday, so he was exhausted last night. Parker is once again a guest in the house. Mao goes right to the source and hisses at Thomas now.

Tuesday Update
Had a long day at work yesterday, 7 - 5:20. It seemed even longer because I knew Ashley was traveling. After a little scare with her car not starting, she was able to make it to Eldora to see Thomas and Diedre's place. Thomas also took her for a tour of the town and school. She got home about 7:30 and we ate calzones that Doug had made. The calzones were delicious. Raws and Chloe had gone Christmas shopping earlier, so they were here to eat with us as well. I was glad Ashley finally got to meet Raws.

Monday Update
Yesterday was a very good day. I made a new recipe, 'Old Fashioned Soft Pumpkin Cookies'. They are very good and taste kind of like spice cake. The chili was some of the best ever. Everyone had a really good time. After supper we all watched 'It Happened One Night', an old black & white film from 1934.
Chloe came home yesterday afternoon and spent the night. She always adds so much to the conversation at the dinner table. She also had some fun pictures on her camera that she shared with Wanda and me. It is always nice to have one of the kids in the house. Ashley will be coming home today. She plans to stop by Thomas and Diedre's on the way here. This is going to be the best Christmas in years!!

Happy Saturday before Christmas everyone. Just a few more days and the kids will start coming home. This is my favorite time of year. I finished most of my Christmas shopping yesterday. Just a few little things and stocking stuffers left. Also need to get to the Christmas baking.

Friday Update
Wow it is only 1 week from Christmas. I found out this week that I do have Christmas Eve & New Years Eve day off from work. Yeah!!!
Doug and I did some Christmas shopping last night. It was a good shopping trip and we found some good stuff for under the tree. Can't wait for next week. I don't want Christmas Day to get here too fast, because I want my time with Ashley to slow down.

Wednesday Update
Yesterday was another busy day at work. The week still is not going fast enough for me. Although I still have a lot to finish before Christmas.
Ashley will not be driving down from MN until Monday. I was hoping she would be here for our chili on Sunday. She says she found an amazing sugar cookie recipe, I asked if it was a good as Wanda's and she thinks it is. She is planning to make some while she is here.
Last night Mark plowed our parking spot on the street and then he and Wanda came over for supper. We had Brinner with Morel Mushrooms in the scrambled eggs. They stayed and watched The Hangover with us. They also think it is a very funny movie.
It looks like Bob Parsons is moving his customer service center back to the old Hiawatha office where I started. I wonder if he plans to do the same thing he did with his old company and sell if off eventually.

Tuesday Update
We had another Cyber Monday at work yesterday. We did not know about it until we got to work though. It was a crazy day with nonstop phone calls.
Last night was pretty relaxing. I washed the Sunday dishes which weren't to bad. We ate yummy leftovers for supper and then watched Two & a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory. Both were Christmas shows.

Monday Update
The Chicken Cacciatore Soup Was fantastic last night. I look forward to having it again for lunch today. Wanda's bagel dip and chocolate covered krispie treats were delicious as well.
Last night was the final episode of this seasons Dexter. We did not see that coming. I don't know what is going to happen to Dexter now...

Sunday Update
Yesterday was a great day. Thomas came for a little visit. We watched the Hangover with him, he also thought it was very funny. After he left to the Christmas party he and Diedre were going to, Doug and I went grocery shopping. Nothing exciting happened while shopping. The shoppers weren't even too annoying. Thomas came home with a big spotlight thing, which was his exchange gift. It is very, very bright. You do not want to look straight at it. He thinks it will be great to chase away the kids that knock on their windows at home.

Saturday Update
Yesterday was a good day. A little long at work but not bad. My supervisor finally had her daughter early Friday morning, 8 lb. 6 oz. & 21" long.
Last night we watched one of the funniest movies ever, The Hangover. It has to be in the top 10 must have movies. We just roared laughing.
We also found out Thomas & Diedre are coming to town today. Diedre's family has a Christmas gathering in Iowa City. I knew it was coming up, but I had forgotten it was this weekend.

Friday Update
I'm glad it is Friday. Yesterday our phones at work kept cutting out, the customer would still be on the line when the phone came back up. It still made some customers angry and want to yell at us more. Other people understood when you would tell them about the storm.

Thursday Update
It figures, the snow blower we got from my Dad does not start. We had to move the old fashioned way with our shovels. It was either very heavy snow or I am getting to old. The muscles in my arms, shoulders and legs hurt. It also took me hours to warm up after coming in out of the cold and wind.
I also managed to address Christmas cards, wrap one Christmas gift, wash one load of laundry and watch X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I went to bed after Glee last night because I was so exhausted.

Wednesday Update
We have lots of snow, not sure how much yet. I will be surprised if work is not cancelled. I am up and getting ready just in case. They have not been by in awhile to plow the street. Last night before I went to bed they only plowed down the middle of the street. If I don't have to go to work today, it will be the perfect time to address our Christmas cards and get them ready to mail. I could also get a start on wrapping presents. And shovel snow of course. We will most likely get the snow blower out for the first time.
