Gift Boxes

Gift boxes are very handy for oddly shaped presents that are difficult to wrap or soft items (like clothing) that would cause wrapping paper to tear or wrinkle. While gift boxes can make gift wrap a snap, they’re often tossed aside without much thought. Typically made from cardboard or paperboard, they are versatile and often recyclable.

Keep gift boxes for storing items around the house. For example, the long, flat boxes that traditionally accompany clothing are great for storing winter sweaters during warmer seasons, since hangers can damage their shape.

You can recycle old cereal boxes by making your own gift boxes. These paperboard boxes are a delight when a ribbon is added for the finishing touch!

Start a family trend by re-gifting boxes as often as possible. You could begin this by using one of your handmade boxes from above and asking the recipient to use it for their next occasion.

Ask your friends and family to save cards from special occasions for you, as you can easily make greeting cards into gift boxes. You can return your new boxes to their donor, or save them for your next special occasion!
