Thursday Update
This week is going by pretty fast and that is always a good thing. I just don't like the weekends going fast. Not much happened yesterday, the usual work. Ashley was already at work when I got home, so Doug and I made supper. Doug made yummy pork steaks and I made Cheesey Pototoes (The box kind w/extra cheese added). We watched Lost, finally a new episode. We also tuned in to Idol just long enough to find out Kevin was finally voted off. We don't have to listen to his lisp anymore! Then I went to pick up Ashley from work and we stopped in at Walmart real quick to get Nyquil. Sam kept trying to call Ashley from Florida, but he was not getting very good reception and the call was lost. After about 6 attempts and standing in his Aunts yard he decided it just wasn't working. Ashley rented some moves to watch on the rest of her Spring Break, Serenity, Walk The Line and Wallace & Gromit. That's about all.

Tuesday Update
I think the weather is getting everyone down. Thomas has a bad cold, my head feels stuffy, I think Doug is coming down with something and Ashley is plain grumpy. Today we have a treat day for a co-worker. I made Peach Delight, yummy. I hope they don't eat it all, so I can bring some home. Not much else to say today. Get well Thomas.

Monday Update
The weekend went so fast and I didn't really do much. I think the weather makes me sluggish. The soups were good yesterday and we had a good turnout. Not much to say, except that it is Monday and I have to work and Ashley is on Spring break. I hope she gets better weather than Thomas had for his.

Saturday Update
Yesterday started out busy. Jacob came over with Ana and Nick, so that Doug could bleed the breaks on his car. Jacob brought Cinnamin Bagels from Panera for everyone. It didn't take too long for them to finish with the car. Luckily, Doug did not add to his sunburn from the last time they worked on it. We then decided to go to the Metro Grill. I think the food is going downhill there. The honey chicken was pretty good, but not much else. I would rather have Doug's cooking any day. After we got done eating Chloe called and said she was at work and could we pick her up at 2. It was only a little after 12, so we drove to Target West and Ashley bought some shiny shoes to go with her prom dress. Next we stopped at Von Mauer to pick up her dress. She got a free watch, perfume (smells like window cleaner) and a small picture album (looks like it is for a 12 yr old) for buying her prom dress at Von Mauer. Then we stopped to see if we could take a look at the car Ashley was interested in buying. Doug talked to the mechanic and he said he is afraid the car she was going to buy has transmission problems. Doug said thats OK because he also has a Volvo for sale and it only needs a new paint job. It will cost $200 more than the other car, but would be well worth it. Ashley is now excited about the Volvo. Next we went to pick up Chloe from work. When we got home I put a Corned Beef Brisket in the roaster for supper. Later Doug made Corned Beef Hash from it. This was the best Corned Beef Hash I have ever had in my life. Yummy!!! We watched random shows on TV the rest of the night. I was dozing off and on, so I really can't remember much of what we were watching.

Thursday Update
Yeah!! Today is my Friday for the week. It is nice to work for an Irish company that gives you St Patrick's Day off as a paid holiday. I hope today goes by faster than the rest of this week at work. It should because we have one person gone from our department. Ashley's Spring break starts this afternoon as well. Melissa was voted off on Idol last night. We think it should have been Kevin. From the look on his face last night, I think he was thinking the same thing. That is all for today.

Monday Update
I wish the weekend would have been longer. Sunday was way too gloomy. I didn't do too much yesterday. Just dishes, vacuum and laundry. We watched a two hour Extreme Home Makeover. We thought the house looked like a church on the outside. I guess that is what they were going for though. We also watched the start of the last season of the Sopranos. Sorry about ruining it for you Thomas. I should have asked if you still watch the show, before telling you what happened. I hope this work week goes fast. It will be a short week since my company gives us St Patrick's Day as a paid holiday.

Sunday Update
It has been a very good weekend. Friday night Diedre stopped by and we watched the New Harry Potter movie. Well actually Diedre mostly played Majonng. Ashley and Sam watched other movies in the Day Kitchen. Thomas and Diedre went to Walmart that same night and bought ice cream and Diedre bought a nice lamp. When they got back we all had ice cream floats.
Saturday, Ashley and I went to Westdale to shop for a Prom dress. The selection at Penneys and Younkers was slim. But she found the one she really likes at Von Mauer and she orders it in her size. So she will have to wait until Friday to actually get the dress and then it will probably need to be shortened and then she will have to wait an little longer even. Now she needs to find a nice shiny silver pair of shoes.
Last night Doug made the most perfect lasagna. I did help a little by cooking the meat and taste testing. The lasagna was a beautiful thing. I love having a chef in the family. This morning he will be making us poached eggs in english muffins and corned beef hash. This is a favorite in this family.

Friday Update
I think I am getting use to my new glasses. Although when I sit too close to the computer I have to tilt my head back. If I look at the screen straight on, everything is blurred. The top part of the lense is definetly for distance and the bi-focal is for the smaller close-up stuff. The TV looked much more crisp last night. Yeah, today is Friday. I hope someone will watch Harry Potter with me. Hint.hint. It is getting late because I sort of slept in until 5:30 today. Later everyone.

Wednesday Update
I am torn, I like it when Thomas is home and I do not want this week to go by fast. However, I always want the work part of the week to go fast and I want Friday to come so I can watch the rest of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. At least I get to see him in the evenings and for awhile Saturday morning before he leaves for work. Saturday afternoon Ashley and I are going out prom dress shopping. That is all for today.

Tuesday Update
The Blogger wasn't working yesterday. The pizza pile-up was a success. We had pizza from Pizza Ranch, Pizza Hut, Tomaso's, Domino's and Papa Murphy's. It is nice to have Thomas home for a few days. He can watch our shows with us and watch me talk to the TV. I know that Mao is happy that Tommy is home, he just is a stinker and gets mad every time Thomas walks out the door. Thomas took Ashley to pick out a birthday gift last night. They ended up at Half Price Books, a dangerous place to go for anyone in this family. Between the two of them thay came home with four books.

Saturday Update
Yesterday was a very good day off. It was Bashers Birthday, so first Ashley and I went to the Drivers License place so she could get rid of her intermediate license and get her regular license. Then we went to Naso's for lunch. The owner is a funny man. The salad bar with a sandwich is such a good deal. I had a large salad, ravioli soup, fish, turkey medallion and a reuben sandwich, plus Naso fries. Ooh was I full! At about 1:30, Ashley and I went shopping for her Birthday gift. We thought she could find something at Target. After looking at almost everything in the store, she ended up with a 3 pack of socks. ??? Then we decided to go to Kohl's, again nothing. Who is purchasing clothes for the stores to sell these days? The choices are terrible! So we went to Old Navy. She tried on a top, but she said it would only look good without a bra and with larger boobs. Next we went to Barnes and Noble. She choose parchment paper for writing calligraphy. We decided to try the Mall. We went to Payless, Sears (I bought a new little purse for myself for $5.66), Gap, American Eagle, Express, PacSun, Claire's, Hot Topic (Chloe wasn't working yet), Journey's and I think a couple of others that I don't know the name of. Ashley says she saw a couple of things at Hot Topic, so we might go back today when Chloe is working to get a discount. We then went to Best Buy to get a Birthday gift for Wanda, her Birthday is this Sunday. By this time it was after 5:00 and we were both pooped. We went home and saw Chloe for like 5 minutes and then she was off to work. We warmed up leftovers from Naso's for supper and Sam dropped by to give Ashley a Birthday card and wish her Happy Birthday. He left and Keeley and Nat stopped by with cupcakes and chatted for a while. We then went to Walmart to get a new cord for Ashley's amp and a light bulb for above the kitchen sink. It was the usual Nascar crowd at Walmart, I just don't feel like I fit in when I'm shopping there. We went home and Ashley played her bass for a while and then Chloe came home and we had Peach, Mango, Passion ice cream with sliced strawberries and cupcakes (from Keeley). I went to bed at around 11:00.
One last note, Chloe had some excitement at her school yesterday. At lunch two kids walked into the lunchroom dressed in Pink Panther costumes. They walked around for a few minutes and then one of the Xavier students made a comment about pink things and one of the Pink Panther boys flipped the food tray in the students face. The Pink Panther boys than took off for an exit which was being blocked by the Assistant Principal. They dashed for another door and the Assistant Principal (a female) tackled one of the boys and held him down. The other Pink Panther took off out the door and started to run across the school yard. As someone called on a cell phone for help, a male student pulled his shoes off and took off across the school yard to catch the other boy. He tackled him and held him down while another school offical caught up and put his foot on the boys neck to hold him down and started swearing at him to stay down. The boys were dressed in Linn-Mar shirts, but they were Washington students. Needless to say they were in a bit of trouble.

'Lost' Recap
I am posting this recap because we were watching American Idol and forgot about Lost. It was a new episode and we thought possibly an important one.

What happened to Claire when she was abducted by the Others?
When Rousseau shows up at camp and tells Claire that her baby could be 'infected', Claire sets out on a journey to find the answer to this question. Armed with memory "flashes" triggered first by Rousseau's presence and then through Libby's relaxation exercises, Claire remembers that she was in fact being held somewhere on the island and given vaccine for the baby. Convinced that the only way to cure Aaron is to find the vaccine, she enlists the help of Rousseau and Kate to find this mysterious place where she was being kept while the Others had her.
With Kate and Rousseau as her guides, Claire slowly pieces together this missing time in her life to discover something unthinkable…but in the end, the most important information she uncovers is that she was meant to be a mother.
Meanwhile, Jack and Locke continue to try and keep Henry a secret from the camp, but it's becoming increasingly difficult. When Mr. Eko ventures down into the hatch to borrow some tools, he figures out that they are keeping a man inside the armory and tells Jack he wants to speak with the prisoner. While Henry maintains that he is not an Other, Eko treats him as such and confesses to killing two of his friends.
Jack and Locke continue to butt heads about how to handle the situation, further straining the power balance between our two heroes. And when Henry uses this information to try and get inside Locke's head, John Locke's composure snaps for the first time, giving way to his complete frustration at being trapped by his responsibilites to the hatch.

Wednesday Update
My work week is already half over. I have a vacation day on Friday. I will probably take Ashley shopping for a birthday gift and make a Grasshopper Pie (her request). In the evening we are going to Naso's for her birthday dinner. Last night we watched part of American Idol. We were making supper during part of it and since it was 90 minutes long we had to turn over to Scrubs during the last half hour. None of the girls we heard sing were doing all that great. Scrubs is so random, I loved the green glow showing the germs being passed around. Since the Olympics are over, we will get to see My Name Is Earl this week. I love that show.

Sunday Update
Not much happening this weekend. I went grocery shopping yesterday and then came home and made Broccoli Chicken Braid which is always yummy. No leftovers. Doug made some Chicken Rice Soup as well. He made the soup just so I will have something to take to work this week, as we do not anticipate any leftover Mock Lobster. Doug got one of the computers running and put it in the basement on Tommy's desk. Ashley is finishing her portfolio and drawing (noses, eyes, lips, ears and hair) for her drawing class. Chloe was mostly working on Saturday, first at Hot Topic and then she had to babysit. Mao did his usual; sleep, wake up, demand food, walk away from the plate once food is placed upon it, sleep, wake up, beg for food you are preparing, walk away when you try to give him cooked chicken, sleep, wake up, beg food while you are eating supper, eat Broccoli Chicken Braid from Mom's plate, sleep, wake up, touch Dad to ask him to feed him, walk away, sleep, wake up, demand food so he can go to bed, walk away from the plate when food is on it, sleep, sleep, sleep, wake up yelling because I won't wake up, walk away when I finally wake up and put food on his plate.

Not much to blog about this morning. The temperature is 29 degree and feels like 20. Not bad. Last night was another lazy night watching American Idol. The kid and the big guy have got to go. There were a couple of the guys who are pretty good. Tonight we will find out which two are going home. I think they send two girls and two guys. Wednesday Update
Wow, it's Wednesday already and it is 21 degrees right now. Old Tony came to visit at work yesterday for an hour. I am also going in to work early today. The email team needs some help because two of three people are gone. It pays to know multiple tasks at work. It makes it harder for them to get rid of you. Thomas has been doing a little better than he expected on tests at school. Keep up the studying and you will even do better next time. Ashley is selecting photos she has taken to put in her portfolio to take to Cornell for a scholarship. I really like her photos she has selected.

Tuesday Update
Back to work today. I hope the week goes by fast. Long weekends are good, but I just can't stay up late like I used to. If I do it ruins me the next day or I should say the next night. I was falling asleep on the couch last night around 7, so I went to bed at 8:30. I probably shouldn't get up so early in the morning, but if I search for the freebies after work all of the good ones are gone. You have to get up early to get the good freebies.

Sunday Update
This morning is warmer than yesterday, it is only 4 below. I hope Thomas doesn't get too cold working the lot at work today. Stay warm Thomas. Have something warm to eat and drink for lunch today.We watched the Olympics most of last night. Nothing too exciting though. Bode Miller is a screw up is all I can say. Mao is sad when Thomas comes to visit and then leaves him again. In fact he is sad when anyone leaves him for any amount of time. Last night Doug went to pick up Ashley from work and Mao sat on top of the white chair and would not look at me until they were back home. I just remembered we had lottery tickets for the big drawing, I gotta go check the numbers. We might be rich!

Saturday Update
It's friggin cold out! Right now it is 14 below. I don't want to go grocery shopping today or step outside at all. Ok, I'm sure I will still have to brave the cold today, because we want to get the thingy to fix the kithen faucet at Ace. I have a three day weekend, so now I feel like I should accomplish something. I will probably wipe down the popcorn machine and help Ashley finish her FAFSA application. Maybe I will bake something also. Thomas and Diedre had thier annual dinner at Vino's last night, I want to go again sometime. I don't have anything else to say right now so, bye bye....

Friday Update
I'm happy it is Friday because I get a three day weekend. It looks like a lot of the snow we were supposed to get went past us. I hope Thomas and Diedre have a safe drive down here tonight. Not much happened yesterday. I left for work early and then found out the roads weren't all that bad. Ashley had no school and she was very surprised when Hy Vee called at 6:25 and said did you know you are on the schedule tonight. She wasn't on the schedule when she worked last on Tuesday. I had wanted to see her for a change and it just didn't happen. I was very tired last night and I can't even remember what we watched on TV. I think I fell asleep on the couch for a little bit using Mao for a pillow. He is a very warm pillow.

Thursday Update
It looks like most of the snow has missed us so far. But it is still very cold. I don't like being cold. For those of you who know about this, now our bedroom wall says "TOO" instead of "100". Doug made perfect Chicken Fried Steak last night. We also had Cheesy Potatoes and Green Beans. I had pickeled beets leftover from the Amanas too. It was a vey nice meal for a Wednesday. We watched American Idol and Lost last night. Idol is annoying when they let people through who obviously aren't idol material, just to create controversy or whatever. I thought Lost was pretty good last night. They are really making us dislike Sawyer though. He didn't have to kill the tree frog!
