The original Nintendo Entertainment System sold more than 60 million units. Imagine how many of these are actually still used. When you’re done playing a game or using your electronic deceives, you can donate, recycle or sell them so they don’t end up in a landfill. For example, Goodwill took in 23 million pounds of electronics in 2004.
- Make sure the electronic device still works. If it does, find a Goodwill or Salvation Army location using Earth911.com. You can also sell via Craigslist or Ebay and use the money to purchase a new system.
- Make sure to wipe your hard drive! Before getting rid of electronics, be sure private information isn’t reused as well - Get a professional to help if you’re unsure how to do it.
- If it doesn’t work, make sure to recycle it.
