Monday Update
The Super Bowl is over. We had lots of munchies to gorge on. The game was boring except for a couple of exciting moments. The commercials were mostly boring as well. Lots of advertising for movies that are coming out. Fed-Ex and Bud Light had the best commercials.

Superbowl Sunday Update
Yesterday was busy. Doug and I went shopping in the AM for a tire at Sam's. While we waited for the tire to be put on we had 45 minutes to kill inside the store. We picked up a few things including chips for today. We then went to Best Buy to purchase Corpse Bride with some of our gift card money. We went home and had lunch and then I went shopping with Ashley. We went to Half Price Books and found a book by Shel Silverstein called "Who wants a cheap Rhinoceros?". It is great and I am sure Nick will like it for his birthday this weekend. Then we went into David's Bridal, Ashley wanted to look at dresses for prom. I thought all the dresses were way overpriced and kind of ugly too. Way too many brides and such in that place on Saturday. It made me uncomfortable. Then we went to Michael's, Ashley need to get a photo album for a school project, we also found luggage tags for $1. (Let me know if you want a couple Thomas.) We went home and then at 3 I took Chloe to work and finished my shopping at Hy Vee, Fareway and Walmart. I only bought rechargeable batteries at Walmart. I am trying to stay loyal to my usual grocery stores.
Last night we ate yummy pork chop sandwiches with salad and corn chips. Doug Chloe and I watched Corpse Bride. I recommend it if you have not seen it yet. After the movie I made a cheese ball for today and washed dishes. Ashley decided not to go to the WPA dance. Instead her and Sam went to eat at the Golden Palace, Ashley out ate Sam by a mile. They then went to see the movie "Munich", they say it was very good, but very graphic. They came here after the movie and watched Corpse Bride.
This has become a rather long post and I still have a birthday cake to make and cleaning to do. so this is the end. Have a good Superbowl XL.

Wednesday Update
Another non-exciting day at work yesterday. At least today we get free bagels. I like the honey-walnut spread on my bagel. Last night we watched Overhaulin. They overhauled a Chevy van this guy bought in 1976 (the year I graduated High School). They painted it a nice blue with a dragon and ghost flames on the outside. Inside it had a wide screen TV and of course speakers to blast the van. The guy dropped to his knees when he saw it and it was also his birthday. So Thomas, next time your finger turns color from a sliver, heat a needle to sterilize it and dig the splinter out. You can also get tweezers at Walmart for cheap.

Tuesday Update
Nothing much has happened to update about. Work was OK yesterday, nothing exciting happened. A co-worker gave me a Red Bull drink that the food court had been giving away in the afternoon. I brought it home and gave it to Doug. We ate leftover spaghetti, ratatouile and salad for supper. We watched Find! and realized that twins with big feet also have big... wait you don't want to hear about that. There was nothing much on TV so we watched four different shows where the host was visiting Torino, Italy. They all went hunting for truffles and got to eat thousands of dollars worth of truffles.

Friday Update
I got off work an hour early on Thursday. That is always nice because we can get an earlier start on making supper. Last night was super yummy Hamburger Rice Hotdish.
Went to the Walmart last night. You know how you can tell you are shopping at Walmart? You see a mother and child blocking the isle 2 feet inside the door, you see at least 2 people riding the electric shopping cart your first 5 minutes in the store. And finally, you see a half crushed Bud Light can rolling around the parking lot as you leave.
My Name Is Earl was funny as always. I am starting to get into watching The Office. At times it almost gets too close to how office life can be. Kind of scary. I still don't Like Will and Grace much, too mean spirited at times.

Wednesday Update
This week is going rather fast. Last night we watched the first hour of American Idol and then we turned to Scrubs. There was actually one or two girls that sound like they may have a chance on Idol. Scrubs is the funniest show, the next funniest is My Name is Earl. Nice audio Thomas, I like it. You will have to let us know how it is done. This morning Doug got up very early. I guess that is what happens to you when you go to bed early.

Tuesday Update
Last night Doug and I watched the final episode of Dead Like Me. What a shame, they could have done so much more with the show. Now we have to find something else. Oh well American Idol is back on, although I am not really impressed with anyone they have shown auditioning yet. We also have Scrubs (Tuesday), Lost (Wednesday) and My Name Is Earl (Thursday). And the Winter Olympics will be starting soon as well.

Sunday Update
This has been a relaxing weekend. Nothing pressing to do. Yesterday Ashley and I went to Old Navy and Kohls to see if there was anything good at the clearance sales. As Ashley put it, "Everything was pretty crappy". We had oven roasted chicken for supper and rootbeer floats for desert. Yummy! Doug completed my Federal taxes for me last night and filing was free with TaxAct. The state forms aren't ready yet, so we have to wait to file state. While he filed the taxes, I made Funfetti cupcakes. We are taking today off from Soup Sunday and just making a small batch of Gumbo for ourselves. It will be very delicious. Last night Thomas went to the UNI basketball game with Diedre and friends and he got in free with a coupon he had. UNI won the game. I watched too many design shows yesterday. Last night I kept dreaming about rearranging our bedroom. The only problem is that everything I thought of would not work because the room is too small.

Thursday Update
We had the best twice baked potatoes I have ever eaten last night. I am so lucky to have leftovers to take for lunch today. Doug also made his famous Pasta Salad. Yeah!!
I think American Idol enjoys showing the crazy people more than the good singers that they put through to Hollywood. They did let a poor young cowboy through because he has never been anywhere and never has been on a plane. He said he has only ever sang for a turkey and maybe should practice singing in front of people. And I think the boy who says he is tired of looking like a girl should stop wearing girls clothes and get a real boy hair cut. Then he would look like any other skinny, zit faced teenaged boy.

Wednesday Update
I got to leave work at 1:30 yesterday. It was nice coming home before dark. I don't think we will have any more early outs this week. One of the other ladies is working half a day today and then she has the rest of the week off. Mao is a silly cat. When I got home yesterday he was napping underneath Chloe's frog blanket.
Last night we watched some of the two hours of American Idol, season 5. They let some of the people sing for way too long before stopping them, so at 8 we turned the channel and watched most of Scrubs for the next hour. We switched back to Idol once in a while.

Tuesday Update
Sometimes it is just hard to think of anything to say in an update. Today is one of those days. Yesterday was boring at work and I almost got to go home early with vacation pay. Not more than a minute after my supervisor said I could go, we received 10 more PO's which took the rest of the day to complete.

Monday Update
It was a good weekend. Saturday Ashley and I spent at Mt Mercy. Ashley has decided they don't have the English department that she was expecting and it has dropped down on her choice list. I think the interview and essay part were a good experience for her though. Next month she will be visiting Wartburg for Scholarship Day.
Sunday was another small gathering that turned out larger than expected. Deb was the first to show and then Mark and Wanda. Sam picked up Ashley from work and Ashley ate with us while Sam sat at the table and watched us eat and talk. He is not a soup person. That was the entire group for a while. We watched Extreme Home Makeover, a two our special and talked. Wanda left after the show was over at 8. Shortly afterwards we had a surprise visit from Thomas. I think we all needed that. And then Chloe and Laura showed up. It was nice to have the family all together laughing and having a good time. Unfortunately, Ashley has school and I have to work today. Thomas brought us leftovers of the Ginger Chicken that he made for himself and Diedre over the weekend. I am looking forward to having some for lunch today.

Friday Update
It's Friday at last. Yesterday was pretty uneventful. We had frozen Totino's pizzas for supper and then we watched TV. It started with the live episode of Will and Grace. Not one of my favorites, except for the slapstick, I guess it was watchable. I would like it more if it did not include Will and Grace. Next was a new show called Four Kings, it is about four guys that share an apartment. Not the greatest, but it has its moments. Next was my favorite, My Name Is Earl. They even had a little tortise on last night. The Office was after Earl. This show is hard to get interested in, but we watched it anyway.
This weekend we will have Chloe at home. On Saturday Ashley and I will be spending a good part of the day at Mt Mercy, it is Scholarship Day.

Not much to report. I learned at work that I have not yet learned everything. All orders that come in before 3 must be entered that day if at all possible. I almost got them all entered, I only needed help with about 5 orders. They were giving away old software at work again. I got a couple of kid games and Intellivision Greatest Hits. This includes 25 games from the 80's. Doug might put it on our Mac.

Wednesday Update
I had a good Birthday. The day went pretty good at work. I stopped at the Credit Union on my way home from work and they gave me a nice pen because it was my Birthday. Doug made Chicken Fried Steak, Gravy and Hash Browns for supper. My Dad called to wish me Happy Birthday. He called about 6 and said he was going to bed because he was very tired after using a chain saw in his backyard to get rid of some unwanted overgrowth of plants. I'm not sure that it is a good idea for a 74 year old man to be using a chain saw. He also asked me to say helllo to everyone. We watched Scrubs last night. They had two new episodes back to back. If you have not seen an episode from the new season yet, it is worth checking out.

Monday Update
It was a pretty good weekend. The sun was out part of the weekend. I think everyone needed that. The food was all very delicious last night. Although I did not get a chance to try the vegetable soup that Wanda brought. We didn't have a dessert and everyone said they had plenty to eat and would not have had room for one anyway. This just sounds like rambling and I have to go get ready for work, so I guess that is all for today.

Saturday Update
Not much happening again. Last night I had the house to myself for awhile. Doug was at Brian's trying to get him back online and Ashley was with Sam. They went to Hardee's for burgers and went back to his house to watch A Clockwork Orange and 2001: A Space Odyssey. The only good thing that I watched on TV while they were gone was Inside The Actor's Studio. Michael Fox was on. I think his book Lucky Man sounds interesting. I also washed clothes and dishes while they were gone. We saw Amy Sederis on Letterman and then watched part of Austin City Limits. Elvis Costello was on Austin City Limits. Amy Sederis is a spaz and I think she has ADD. I actually stayed up until 12 last night. I can never do that on New Years Eve anymore. Ashley is going to take me shopping for my birthday gift today. Other than that I have no big plans for this weekend.

Friday at last. Not much happening again. Thomas leaves back to school today. I hope he has a safe trip. We used the steam cleaner that Doug got for Christmas on the stove in the Day Kitchen last night. The stove actually is looking very nice. We also watched My Name is Earl last night. Thursday Update
Not much has been happening this week. Work is picking up now that our quarter end is finally over. I have a big pile of orders on my desk at work, so hopefully today will go fast. Today is the last full day Thomas will be home for awhile. I think he plans to get his hair cut before going back to school. I am now officially a cross stitch mentor and I don't even know how to cross stitch. Sometimes I don't know what I'm thinking when I sign up for freebies. But it is a lot of fun to get silly things in the mail.

Tuesday Update
The Holidays are now officially over. Back to work and school for most people. Except for the college kids, they go back next week. Thomas will be here until this Friday and then I'm not sure when he will be back to visit. Thomas took me birthday shopping yesterday since he will not be here on my birthday. He got me a sweater, pants and an OXO four piece set with a can opener, ice cream scoop, pizza cutter and peeler. We should be busy at work today. Making up for the long weekend. And it is the beginning of a new quarter. Which means we enter all the orders that came in last week that we couldn't, because they weren't over a certain dollar amount.

Sunday Update
Happy New Year everyone. I only made it until 11 last night. And I actually didn't even make it that long, that is just when I got off the couch and went to bed. I was dozing in and out all night. TV was very boring and did not hold my interest at all. We did watch the Southpark Thicker, Longer & Uncut movie.
