Friday Update
Last night we decided to go out for supper. We weren't sure where we wanted to go, so Doug just started driving. We almost went to Prime Time again, but we decide to drive a little further and we would probably end up back there. Then we saw a placed called The Londoner on Center Point Rd. We decided to try it. It is a British Pub & Restaurant. It was difficult to choose from the menu because they had lots of things we wanted to try. I ended up with the Fish Reuben and onion rings. I think I am paying for eating the onion rings this morning, but they were very good. So was the Fish Reuben. Doug had Bangers & Mash, he really liked it. It was a good time.

Thursday Update
The weekend is almost here, hang in there. This weekend is the Swamp Fox Festival. Not sure if I will work Saturday if offered. It would be the first Swamp Fox Parade I would have missed since we moved to Marion. It probably depends on what the chances of rain are.
Yesterday we got the disc with the wedding photos Ashley took. We looked at quite a few of them. They are very good. We already see some of the ones we want to get in print.
Wanda stopped by last night to pick up the chili that she forgot to take on Sunday. I'm sure she enjoyed her supper last night. Everyone loves Doug's chili.

Tuesday Update
Bad day at work yesterday. Only 2 phone people showed up to work, myself and one other. The supervisor & QA had to help out. Hope today is better. We are also supposed to be learning a new email system. It has a lot to be improved upon.
We had pork steak for supper. Mao really enjoyed it, but there was a bit too much garlic season on it for him. That only bothered him until he saw we had ice cream.

Monday Update
We had the first soup of the season yesterday, chili! It was very good, I had 2 bowls and a chili dog. I may pay for all of that today though.Wanda also brought a very good Mexican dip and chips and cupcakes for dessert.
The dining room floor is almost finished. Doug just needs to do some touch up near the door. It looks very nice. I will have Doug take some pictures for those who are not here to see it right away.

Happy Friday everyone. Not much to blog today. I'm back on phones at work. The emails still need to get done, they just don't have anyone working on them full time. Doesn't make sense to me. There will be even more angry customers now. I guess that's why they need me on the phones.

Thursday Update
Crazy day at work yesterday. Our office is now officially down to six people. But guess what. OT will be back possibly as soon as tomorrow.
Ashley was supposed to start classes yesterday. After spending over an hour in traffic because of two accidents (imagine that), there was a note on the classroom door, "No class". At least she wasn't late the first day.

Tuesday Update
We are back from our trip to Minnesota. We had a great time in The Cities with Ashley & Paul. We did lots of talking and driving around. We stayed at The Radisson in Plymouth. The room was great, but I would not recommend it for convenience of bringing in your luggage. No matter which entrance you used it was a long walk to the room. On Saturday night we ended up eating at Jake O'Connors Public House. It took us lots of driving around and a few hours to decide on this one. We should have just listened to Ash & Paul in the first place. They were right the food was fantastic!
There were a few running jokes all weekend, which really made it fun. I'm sure I'm a bit healthier from all of the laughing.
On Sunday morning we took a scary ride on the freeway to Ikea and picked up a few more things than we had planned. But, that's what happens when we go to Ikea. We decided to eat something when we first got there, because no one had breakfast yet. The cafeteria line was way too long, so we bought a six-pack of cinnamon rolls, coffee and milk. While we were sitting at a table, some people walked by and one of the women said, "I wish I was part of your family!"
Later in the afternoon we visited Roger and his family. Roger took us, Ashley and Paul on a grand tour of Coon Rapids. I got to see all of the old places that mean so much to them. Both Doug and Roger were having a great time reminiscing about the old days. We also stopped by Doug's niece Nicole's new house and meet her husband and beautiful children. Randy was also there, so they all went over to Roger's house. We then went to the grocery store and bought steaks and stuff. We got back to the house and Roger put us in charge of supper. Doug grilled and Ashley and I worked on the salad. We spent the rest of the night talking, watching Luke's dance recital and fighting off Minnesota mosquitos.
Monday morning we had breakfast, coffee and iced tea at Caribou Coffee. We said our goodbyes to Paul and Ashley and then we headed to Eldora. We got there around 4. Diedre and Thomas made us a delicious meal. I raided the garden and we talked for a bit. Then we headed home to see Chloe and Mao. It was a very nice vacation, even if it wasn't long enough.

Friday Update
We had a nice supper with Ross last night. Unfortunately, Chloe had to go to work and could not eat with us. We had egg, Canadian bacon and cheese muffins. Better than any Egg McMuffin you can buy. Ross stayed a while and watched all the latest episode of the new Kids in the Hall show Death Comes to Town. I love that show, it is hilarious.
Three day weekend coming up. I'm excited!

Today I am posting from the Linux computer. Last night just after I went to bed, Doug said the main computer died. It won't turn on. I'm not sure what is going on there. It seems like there is always something when dealing with computers.

Wednesday Update
Happy Wednesday and first day of September! I can't believe it is September already. This year is flying by. Yesterday was pretty uneventful. Worked, came home and had supper, washed some laundry and dishes. Watched TV and just before bed, Chloe came home with sundaes from McDonald's. That was the best part of the day.

Not much to post today. Last night we had leftovers for supper. We watches Antiques Roadshow and Top Gear. A little after 9 we watch the international space station go by and then I went to bed. I was exhausted for some reason. And I didn't even work overtime.

Sunday Update
Yesterday was a long day, but a good day. I started by working from 5:30 - 12:30. I came home and went grocery shopping. Then I washed dishes and helped Doug finish getting ready for company. Luckily Doug had done most of the cleaning earlier in the day.
Mark, Wanda and her mother came over for supper. Wanda supplied the biggest share of the meal. She brought pork burgers, pineapple, avocado & black bean dip, tortilla chips, broccoli-cauliflower salad (sorry Tommy), and cantaloupe. We supplied brats, Italian sausage, hot dogs, grilled peppers & onions, tortilla scoops, pickles, cupcakes and brownies. Everything was delicious and we had a lot of good conversation. Chloe showed up in time to see them just before they left. She was excited because she had just gotten done watching The Black Knight on Bluray.
Today I plan to organize some things in the kitchen and we will probably can some pickles. We also need to start planning next weekend.

Friday Update
Last night was spent baking for food day today. I made chocolate fudge cupcakes with chocolate frosting and chocolate fudge brownies. Everyone should get their chocolate fix today. As of next Monday they are putting a freeze on our overtime for a while. Not sure how long it will last, because we never quite go caught up and another round of vacations and a long holiday weekend is coming up. At least I will get a little extra rest.

Not much happening in my world. Chloe's first day at Big Brother/Big Sister went well and she likes the people she works with. That is always a plus.
We had BLT's for supper last night. After supper Chloe and I went shopping for a few things she needs for her desk in her cubicle. Wow! Chloe has a cubicle. Doug stayed home and made egg salad and chicken salad. That was about it for the night.
Today Ashley and Paul are heading to Disney World until next Tuesday. I'm kinda jealous.

Last night we invited Mark & Wanda over for supper. We had hamburgers, hotdogs and pork burgers on the grill. The food was good. Afterwards Wanda and Chloe watched more True Blood and Doug canned tomatoes. Mark left around 8. I washed dishes and hemmed Chloe's pants. Yes, we are just that exciting.

OT, OT, OT. That's pretty much my life right now. Not that I'm complaining. We are work again on Saturday. It should be interesting. We have never worked when the Farmer's Market was going on downtown. I might just check it out on break Saturday.

Monday Update
It was a weekend of canning. Pickles and ratatouille. And Doug made a big pan of eggplant casserole (not exactly sure what he is calling it). Last night we had Mark and Wanda over. We had hamburgers, hot dogs and pork burgers on the grill. We also made battered & fried zucchini spears. For the pork burgers we added grill pineapple on the sandwich. Very yummy...
Today we tackle the tomatoes, which we have a lot of again.

Sunday Update
I had a busy day yesterday. Went to work a 6 AM, stayed until about 12:45. Came home and wrote a shopping list and went shopping for a few hours. I stopped at Kohl's to use a $10 gift card I got in the mail and got myself an new top, for free! I also went to Dollar General, Menard's, Walmart, Aldi's, Hy Vee and Fareway. When I got home, Doug helped with the scanning of all the groceries and stuff and then we had to rearrange freezers to fit all that I purchased. We really need one larger freezer, so we can get rid of some of these refrigerators.
Today we will have a short visit with Diedre and Thomas before they head home. We hope to see Chloe and possibly Ross some time today. Today's menu is the standard cook out. Hamburgers, hot dogs and maybe pork burgers.

Friday Update
Happy Friday everyone. It is raining again as usual. I think we have only had to water the garden about three time this summer.
Doug installed the new light switches and outlets in the dining room yesterday. Now all that is left is the floor. Last night Doug started the cucumbers soaking in ice for the bread & mustard pickles. Thomas & Diedre are coming down today, bring lots of produce from their garden. They want to make BBQ sauce and maybe help Doug with the pickles. We will be having pizza for supper. Maybe we should invite the Jordan's over as well. If you see this Wanda give us a call.

Thursday Update
Wow, Thursday already. I see todays Kraft recipe is ratatouille. We need to make some. Last night we made another batch of salsa. Yes, we have that many tomatoes! Tonight we will have stewed tomatoes for supper.
I have been working lots of OT and will be working this Saturday as well. We keep getting behind in emails because whenever someone is out on vacation, another person calls in sick or has another excuse for not being there. With such a small group two out in one day is too many.
Well enough about work. I'm just not that exciting. Hope everyone has a splendid day.

Back to work after four days off. And it is raining again. Aagghh!!
At least the dinning room looks great. We welcomed back the Jordan's from vacation last night. Doug picked them up at the airport and we all ate pizza together. It sounds like they had a very nice time.

Monday Update
What a rainy morning and I have to take out trash this morning.
Poor Bobo! Her car window was busted out last night, some time between 7 and 9:30. This is the third window on the same car. We think it was the neighbor kids that walk by constantly. The police are familiar with those kids and couldn't do anything because no one actually saw it happen. All they could do is take pictures and file a report. We didn't even hear it happen. We need to seriously look at motion lights because our street is so dark.

Sunday Update
I went to bed late last night, but I still can't sleep in. Must be because I slept until 10 AM yesterday. Well I was awake for a few hours very early, from about 4:30 until 6 and then went back to bed.
Yesterday was busy. Went to Ace Hardware and Menards for painting supplies. Chloe helped me paint the dining room ceiling and I painted the walls and half of the room. Today I hope to finish the other half. Mao is very confused and not sure what to think about what we are doing.

Saturday Update
I had a good day off yesterday. I mowed the yard in the morning. I also went over to Mark & Wanda's to check their garden. I came back with a bag full of tomatoes. We need to make salsa soon!!
In the afternoon I took almost everything out of the dining room to prepare for painting. I also went to Menard's to get paint chips. We have decided on Taupe Trivia as the wall color. I am looking forward to a fresh color in this room. It has needed it for a long time. Today I buy the paint and work on taping around doors, the window and floor trim. Should be a busy day.

Four days of work and then a long weekend for me. Yeah!!
Yesterday was pretty laid back. I did a little laundry and the cleaning was easy because Doug did most of it on Saturday while I was at work. Chloe and Ross were here for supper. We had pork burgers, hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob and chips. Then we watched some tv.
