Saturday Update

Not much happening again. Last night I had the house to myself for awhile. Doug was at Brian's trying to get him back online and Ashley was with Sam. They went to Hardee's for burgers and went back to his house to watch A Clockwork Orange and 2001: A Space Odyssey. The only good thing that I watched on TV while they were gone was Inside The Actor's Studio. Michael Fox was on. I think his book Lucky Man sounds interesting. I also washed clothes and dishes while they were gone. We saw Amy Sederis on Letterman and then watched part of Austin City Limits. Elvis Costello was on Austin City Limits. Amy Sederis is a spaz and I think she has ADD. I actually stayed up until 12 last night. I can never do that on New Years Eve anymore. Ashley is going to take me shopping for my birthday gift today. Other than that I have no big plans for this weekend.

Friday at last. Not much happening again. Thomas leaves back to school today. I hope he has a safe trip. We used the steam cleaner that Doug got for Christmas on the stove in the Day Kitchen last night. The stove actually is looking very nice. We also watched My Name is Earl last night. Not much has been happening this week. Work is picking up now that our quarter end is finally over. I have a big pile of orders on my desk at work, so hopefully today will go fast. Today is the last full day Thomas will be home for awhile. I think he plans to get his hair cut before going back to school. I am now officially a cross stitch mentor and I don't even know how to cross stitch. Sometimes I don't know what I'm thinking when I sign up for freebies. But it is a lot of fun to get silly things in the mail.

Tuesday Update

The Holidays are now officially over. Back to work and school for most people. Except for the college kids, they go back next week. Thomas will be here until this Friday and then I'm not sure when he will be back to visit. Thomas took me birthday shopping yesterday since he will not be here on my birthday. He got me a sweater, pants and an OXO four piece set with a can opener, ice cream scoop, pizza cutter and peeler. We should be busy at work today. Making up for the long weekend. And it is the beginning of a new quarter. Which means we enter all the orders that came in last week that we couldn't, because they weren't over a certain dollar amount.

Happy New Year everyone. I only made it until 11 last night. And I actually didn't even make it that long, that is just when I got off the couch and went to bed. I was dozing in and out all night. Friday Update

This is the last Friday of 2005. It will also be the last Friday in my old cubicle at work. Today is Daisy's last day and then I will be moved to her cubicle. Which is actually a space shared with three other people. It will be strange and it also means I will be more on my own in my new position.

Thomas just left for work and we won't see him until Monday. I'm glad we don't plan much for the New Year. New years Rockin' Eve looks like it will be horrible this year anyway. I hope we just watch a good movie. Who knows what the girls have planned.

Three days of work left in this year. Last night my brother Mark came to visit and he brought Best Buy gift cards. Monday Update

Christmas turned out very well this year. Mao was the most excited of us all. Ashley took great video of him opening his presents. He also got to eat both duck and turkey. It can't get much better for a cat on Christmas. I got lots of wonderful clothes and shoes. I also got a nice stainless steel spice rack and a flower pot for my African violet. Today we are going to Verizon to get new phones. I will finally have a color screen!

You would have thought the trash men would have a day off today. But, no. The day I am finally able to sleep past 6:00, I am woken by the garbage truck going right by our house. Now I have a full trash can and recycle bin that will both have to wait another week. Oh well, at least it is cold outside and the trash won't smell as bad.

Not many more days before Christmas. The tree has no room left under it. We have been baking all week, so there are plenty of goodies in the house. Luckily Ashley is having some kids over on Friday night to help eat some of them. Last night we made Peanut Blossom Cookies while watching 40 Year Old Virgin. What a funny movie. Today Ashley plans to make her famous Kringle after school.

I was watching the Panda cam this morning and the little guy was sitting down eating leaves. He kept leaning back farther and father, until he fell completly over on his back, all sprawled out. It was so cute!

Monday Update

This weekend seemed so busy. I got a lot done. Saturday morning I went shopping with Ashley. Finished most of my Christmas shopping. I just need a few things for stockings. I did most of my present wrapping on Saturday night. Sunday I made Banana & Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies. Not bad, a little different. I also made another loaf of Banana Bread. I worked on defrosting the freezer in the basement on both Saturday and Sunday. I should not have let it go so long. Sunday night was lots of fun. Too many conversations to keep track of and so much good food. Lots of happy faces and voices. The presents were loved by all and we got some nice things as well. Today I only work until 12 because of Ashley's doctor appointment.

Friday Update

Yesterday was good. I learned a lot about entering SSA orders. These are sample orders and teaching materials that the company sends out at no charge. They are requested by important people in the company, so it is very important that I get these orders out as quickly as possible with no errors.

Thomas got home yesterday. He bought us all pizza for supper and then we went to Target to pick up a few things. After I went to bed Doug and Thomas were going to watch War of the Worlds (the new one). I'm sure Thomas enjoyed it as much as we have.

Doug has the Panda Cam on our desktop. The cute Panda has been roaming around all morning. The camera is now showing a different area of his enclosure.

Just a quick update as I have to deal with snow this morning. Another good day of train on my new job yesterday. I got to enetr some orders on my own at my desk with no one watching over my shoulder. The first day in my new position at work went very well. The time moved very quickly and I even started entering some of the reseller and school quote orders. I was only supposed to watch how it was done this week and start actually entering the orders next week. Last night we watched Elton John's Las Vegas concert "The Red Piano". Monday Update

Sorry I didn't update over the weekend. It was very busy and went fast. On Saturday I wrapped presents and did a little shopping. I also got started writing Christmas cards. Saturday night I baked Chocolate Chip Cookies. The recipe on the Blue Bonnet margarine box is the best. On Sunday I washed dishes, did laundry, made Green Bean Casserole, vacuumed, did cleaning, worked on the Christmas cards some more and decorated the small Christmas tree in the dining room. This was all before Mary came over for supper. We did not officially have a Soup Sunday, it was just supper with Mary. Jordan did not feel like coming along this time. Ashley ate at Sam's because it was his Dad's birthday. After Mary left we watched the 2 hour Extreme Home Makeover Christmas Special. We did not tear up until the very end.

Thursday Update

It is still really cold. I guess we won't get away from it for a few days. Last night Lost was a rerun so we did not have much to watch. We ended up watching a show about trains. Mao is sleeping through the cold weather. He does not just sleep, he snores. Yesterday he was snoring so loud, Mao was sleeping on the couch in the living room and Doug could hear the snoring back in the day kitchen. Not much else is going on. I don't look forward to going out to warm up the van this morning.

It is so cold. I guess the temperature feels like -12 right now. I need to stop and buy some Heet for the cars tonight. Last night we had Red Beans and Rice for supper. It was very good and warm. We watched March of the Penguins last night. It is very interesting and parts of it are sad. It makes you wonder why they try to continue on when it is so hard for them. I know I am glad I am not a penguin. Even if Ashley does think they are very cute. It is only 18 days before Christmas. I really need to finsih my shopping and get started on wrapping gifts.

Monday Update

The weekend went very quickly. Saturday we went grocery shopping and put up the Christmas tree. Of course Mao loves lying under the tree. I think he would not mind if we kept the tree up all year long. Saturday we got about four inches of snow. Yesterday I went out and shoveled the sidewalk, patio and driveway. Yesterday we had our annual Cream of the Holidays Soup. It was very delicious. Wanda said it was the best comfort soup. Wanda brought her yummy Party Potatoes and Pumpkin Bread. Brian brought wine. We had a very small turn out yesterday. Chloe had Laura over until 5 and then they left for Iowa City. Brian showed up right after Laura and Wanda came over just before 5. Ashley had to work until 8. So it was just Doug, myself, Wanda and Brian. After eating we went to the living room. Doug and Wanda talked about people they remembered from high school and then we watched most of Extreme Home Makeover. Once again it was a tear jerker.

Friday Update

Sorry, I haven't updated in a few days. I have been going in to work early for OT and the weather thing also. Yesterday I went out to clean the snow off of the van and I had to go into the garage to get my snow brush scraper thingy. When I went to shut the garage door it would only close part way and then open again and the light that goes on in the garage would start to flash. I did this about three times and then I had to get Doug out there to help, because I had to leave for work. He got the door to close after I left, but on his way back into the house he slipped on ice. Luckily he did not break any bones. He said it was his cat like stealth that saved him.

I think we will be putting up the Christmas tree this weekend. Loads of fun.
