Tuesday Update

I have been so busy with working 60 hour weeks and getting ready for the wedding that I have forgotten about blogging. We are getting closer to being ready for the wedding and reception. Just need a few last minute things like ladles, crackers and the vegetables for the potato soup. We are also waiting for the soup bowls, forks and spoons to arrive.

There is also plenty to do around the house. My sister will be visiting this next weekend for Raven's wedding. Two weddings in two weeks, it should be lots of fun!

Wednesday Update

Wow, sorry it has been a while. So busy working OT and getting ready for Ash's wedding and all. Today John & Elaine arrive for a few days. This really does mean the wedding is getting close.

Chloe and Doug will pic them up at the airport at around 4:30. Curt plans to come over for a visit as well. It should be a fun evening. Not sure what supper plans are, yikes!

Well that is all for now. I've got to get ready to go to work now.

Thursday Update

Today is Friday for me. Yeah!!

Still have peppers, broccoli, brussel sprouts and tomatoes in the garden, so we had to cover them last night. Not sure if it actually got cold enough for frost, the temp in the entry shows 44 right now.

You know you are from a small town when they are SELLING it! It's true. Starting tomorrow Scotch Grove is going up for auction. That's right,The Balsters are selling the whole town.

Thursday Update

Back to work this week. We are very, very busy. I am putting in lots of overtime. All I have been doing is working, go home eat supper, watch one or two shows on TV and walk on the treadmill, shower and go to bed. Although last night we started cleaning kitchen cupboards. For tow people we sure do have a lot of stuff!

I am excited to see Thomas and Diedre on Friday. I believe Chloe plans to be here as well. It will be a good time.

Monday Update

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. It was a long week of vacation. It was also a working week of vacation. We accomplished quite a bit and I took a walk almost every morning.

We cleaned up the garden area; weeded and put down mulch in the garden walk-way and all around the garden. Cleaned up a good share of the brush from the back yard and had a fire in the pit three nights in a row. I cleaned up the basement of bugs and spider webs. There were lots! I also cleaned up the entry way. There was more that I can't think of right now. And I also worked both Sat. and Sun. mornings at work for about 4 hours. It's a good way to break back into the routine of going to work.

Yesterday I went to Menards and bought the paint for the outside wall that is peeling so bad. We would have stripped the paint off this week, but it was too hot most of the time or raining. I also helped Doug with putting together gutters. We still have a few more to do and then they need to be caulked and put up. We also need to paint the boards on the house where they get attached before putting them up. There is still a lot of work to be done. With an old house there is always something that needs to be done.

We watched True Blood last night. There is only one more episode this season and from the previews it looks like a lot will happen. It is getting so crazy! I can't believe I am rooting for vampires every week.

I want this gnome, but Etsy wants $60 for it :(

Friday Update

My vacation officially starts today after work, although I do plan to go in on Saturday for a little while. I will be off until the day after Labor Day! We have a list of things to do here around the house. I also plan to do some relaxing (Is that possible?).

Wednesday Update

Today is the first day of school with kids for Thomas and Diedre. Not sure when Amber started. Have a great day of teaching everyone!

Yesterday may dress for Ashley's wedding came in the mail. It is as beautiful as I had hoped. I need to do just a little slimming down, which I am working on. Might need a good pair of spanx as well, we'll see. I walked a little over a mile on the treadmill last night. I have a lot more walking I need to do. Wish me luck.

Sunday Update

Most everyone has already heard this story, but for those who have not here it is.

Friday I was driving home from work on Trailridge Rd SE, I saw a woman pulled over to the side talking on her cell phone and as I drove around her car two turkeys ran out from in front of her car. I slowed so as not to hit them and they started pecking my front bumper. The woman was yelling out of her window, "Oh no, they are pecking your tire!" She finally had a clear get away path as the turkeys were now concentrated on my car. As she drove away one turkey trotted after her car for about half a block. He then turned and trotted back up to my van. At least one or two always stayed in front of the van, so I could not drive away. The rest of the turkeys came around to the driver side window, stretched their necks to look in the windows and made gobbling sounds at me. There were five turkeys and it was like a gang. Craziest thing ever!!

Friday night we took Curt over to Tailgators for drinks, Doug had a coupon from Living Social. Doug and Curt shared two pitchers of beer and I had a glass of pop. This made me the DD. They were both fairly drunk when we left. We then went to Red Robin for burgers and took Curt home after eating. We still had not done some grocery shopping that we had planned on because of a sale that ended Friday, so Doug and I went to Hy Vee. It was a long but fun night.

Yesterday I got up early and went to work until noon. I came home and had lunch and relaxed for a little while. We then went and finished our weekend shopping. Chloe came over and we ate Burger King sandwiches. I was exhausted by then and went to bed.

Friday Update

Ordered my dress for the wedding this morning. Excited to receive it!

I'm also glad it is Friday!!!!!!
