Tuesday Update

I get tomorrow off, so I can go fishing with Doug and Tommy. I won't actually fish because I don't have a license. But it will be fun just the same. I just hope the weather will be nice.

Monday Update

The weekend is already over. My schedule was so messed up that I feel like I really didn't get much done. Actually we went to Jessica's graduation and reception party on Friday night. We did not get home until almost 12:30 AM Saturday. This is what messed up my schedule for the weekend. I woke at 7 AM Saturday and was still kind of tired.

We went to the Jordan's for a nice lunch. We had pork burgers, brat burgers, pasta salads, chips and cake. It was nice to see Wanda's mom and Dave one more time before they left for home. Then we came home and watch a little TV and we both took a nap. I woke around 7:30 PM and Doug woke a little after 8PM. We ate a late supper and I went back to bed around 10:30. I slept until 8 Sunday. I mowed the yard around 10 and then felt kind of sick to my stomach a good share of the afternoon. Raws came over for a nice Father's Day visit since Chloe was out of town.

Friday Update

Happy Friday everyone! We had a nice visit from Chloe and Raws last night. We griledl turkey burgers and hot dogs, with a salad on the side. Yummy!!! We also watched the last episode of Sarah's Summer House. I also baked a cake to take to work for my supervisors birthday today.

Tonight we will be going to Jessica Howe's graduation from Mercy/St Luke's School of Radiologic Technology. There will also be a reception and party afterwards. We are the designated drivers for Curt, Cathy Thomas and Walt. Should be lots of fun.

Wednesday Update

Picked up a Freedom Festival guide last night. The big headliner show this year is Loverboy. It's too bad each year gets a little worse. The only thing worth attending is the fireworks on the 4th and I'm sure we will be watching those on TV at home.

This has been a good week. Ashley started her new job with Wellington Window & Door Company on Monday and they have her working on several projects already. Yesterday FedEx showed up at Thomas and Diedre's house with Diedre's luggage and nothing was missing! And last night Doug and I had supper at Red Robin, so that Doug could get his free birthday burger. They have a new sweet & spicy dipping sauce. Doug loved it.

Friday Update

I'm glad it is Friday. It was a long week for me, not one of my best at work. The weather is cool and rainy. This means a little trickle of water in the basement, the sump pump was working a bit this morning.

No big plans for this weekend. Shopping, cleaning and the usual. Maybe a little sewing as well. I have some mending and pants to hem. I hope everyone else has a more exciting weekend planned. Or not, sometimes non-exciting weekends are the best and most relaxing.

Thursday Update

Happy Thursday everyone.

Chloe stopped by for supper last night and brought Doug his Birthday gift, Tina Fey's new book "Bossypants" and a Barnes & Noble gift card. She stayed and watched an episode of Sarah's House and then left before the storms set in. We got some of the high winds, rain and a mixed bag of hail ranging from peas size to ping-pong ball size. No damage and just a few small branches in the yard. It did make Thomas a bit nervous for us though.

Tuesday Update

Not looking forward to going back to work today. I was enjoying myself too much the last four days. My next vacation will be around the 4th of July. Here are a few pictures taken at Doug's Birthday party.

Sunday Update

We had a wonderful day yesterday and it wasn't even Doug's birthday yet. I started the morning at 6:30 planting flowers out front. I then cleaned up and went to the Farmer's Market. Chloe was there with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She gave me a cool compass and a bumper sticker for our door. The market was so crowded you could hardly even walk around. After I left the Farmers Market I went grocery shopping at Sam's Walmart and Hy Vee.

Chloe and Raws came over in the afternoon and we all went to Chelsey and Jordan's graduation parties. They had a photo booth at Chelsey's party and of course snow cones. Doug took some awesome photos in the photo booth. They will be shared today. At Jordan's party they had food from The Eggroll House, yummy....

When we got home from the parties, we got a call from Ashley, she and Paul went out yesterday and bought a brand new VW Golf to replace Felix who died on the side of the freeway Friday.

Unfortunately, Chloe was suffering from heat stroke after being outside most of the day and she was not able to go to Iowa City to see the Bottle Rockets with us. Raws did go and I'm pretty sure he is happy that he did. The show was awesome and Doug got some great pictures there as well.

I am excited to see everyone later today to celebrate Doug's birthday.

Thursday Update

Work today and then I'm off until next Tuesday. Yeah!!!

I plan to finish planting the rest of the garden. I finally bought eggplants last night. I bought two of the regular purple type and one white, it should be interesting. We will also be going to a few graduation parties on Saturday.

The Bottle Rockets are playing at the Iowa Arts Festival at 7PM on Saturday in Iowa City, I am hoping we go to see them. Sunday we will be celebrating Doug's birthday with shiska-stuff! Come help us celebrate if you can.
