Thursday Update

It is still really cold. I guess we won't get away from it for a few days. Last night Lost was a rerun so we did not have much to watch. We ended up watching a show about trains. Mao is sleeping through the cold weather. He does not just sleep, he snores. Yesterday he was snoring so loud, Mao was sleeping on the couch in the living room and Doug could hear the snoring back in the day kitchen. Not much else is going on. I don't look forward to going out to warm up the van this morning.

Wednesday Update

It is so cold. I guess the temperature feels like -12 right now. I need to stop and buy some Heet for the cars tonight. Last night we had Red Beans and Rice for supper. It was very good and warm. We watched March of the Penguins last night. It is very interesting and parts of it are sad. It makes you wonder why they try to continue on when it is so hard for them. I know I am glad I am not a penguin. Even if Ashley does think they are very cute. It is only 18 days before Christmas. I really need to finsih my shopping and get started on wrapping gifts.

Monday Update

The weekend went very quickly. Saturday we went grocery shopping and put up the Christmas tree. Of course Mao loves lying under the tree. I think he would not mind if we kept the tree up all year long. Saturday we got about four inches of snow. Yesterday I went out and shoveled the sidewalk, patio and driveway. Yesterday we had our annual Cream of the Holidays Soup. It was very delicious. Wanda said it was the best comfort soup. Wanda brought her yummy Party Potatoes and Pumpkin Bread. Brian brought wine. We had a very small turn out yesterday. Chloe had Laura over until 5 and then they left for Iowa City. Brian showed up right after Laura and Wanda came over just before 5. Ashley had to work until 8. So it was just Doug, myself, Wanda and Brian. After eating we went to the living room. Doug and Wanda talked about people they remembered from high school and then we watched most of Extreme Home Makeover. Once again it was a tear jerker.

Saturday Update

I got the job in Schools Data Entry!! I will start training on Dec. 12. One more week on the phones selling and answering emails. Last night we watched War of the Worlds (the new one). I thought it was great.

Friday Update

Sorry, I haven't updated in a few days. I have been going in to work early for OT and the weather thing also. Yesterday I went out to clean the snow off of the van and I had to go into the garage to get my snow brush scraper thingy. When I went to shut the garage door it would only close part way and then open again and the light that goes on in the garage would start to flash. I did this about three times and then I had to get Doug out there to help, because I had to leave for work. He got the door to close after I left, but on his way back into the house he slipped on ice. Luckily he did not break any bones. He said it was his cat like stealth that saved him.

I think we will be putting up the Christmas tree this weekend. Loads of fun.
