Thursday Update
This cold is really kicking me. I went to bed early last night and took Nyquil. I still did not want to get up today. I hope this doesn't last too much longer, I need to get the garden planted this weekend.

Tuesday Update
It was a wonderful vacation. We now have three college grads in the family. What a feeling of accomplishment for Doug and I.
On Friday we had a wonderful birthday supper with Thomas and Diedre. We always enjoy Diedre's cooking. And Doug really liked the brussel sprouts. Thomas also loved his mandolin. We left Eldora early on Saturday and headed for MN, it rained all the way there. We were able to check in at the hotel as soon as we arrived. Then Ash and Paul came and we talked for a while before going to MOA. I am glad I finally got to see it, but it was so big with so many stores it was almost too over whelming do any real shopping. We did get Doug a new pair of Skechers though. Chloe and Raws got into town a little after 7:30. After they got settled in we went to the 5-8 Club for Juicy Lucy's. The ride there was a story in itself, but the food was well worth it.
Sunday morning Paul and Ash met the rest of us at the hotel for a very mediocre breakfast. The kids and I went to the Eden Prairie Mall (remember "Mall Rats") while Doug got ready. We headed to St Kate's around 12:30. Once we arrived Ashley showed us where her "Framed" display was and where we needed to go during the ceremony and then she went to get ready for the procession. We stopped in to see her art work and then we had to part with Chloe and Raws. Only 3 tickets for the graduation ceremony really stunk! During the ceremony they announced tornado sirens were going off, but not to worry, we were in a very safe building. All the speakers were very impressive. All the buzz during the ceremony was that a tornado touched down in Minneapolis. After Ashley graduated we went outside and took pictures. Then Doug decided we would look for his grandparents old house. After a bit if driving around he was able to locate it and took some pictures. We watched some tornado coverage after getting back to the room. Later we decided to eat Chinese food and went to a place called Red Moon. The place was very empty and the hostess/waitress was very nice. The food was excellent. I had the Minnesota style Chow Main with brown rice and Egg Foo Yung. It was just like Doug makes it! We ended the day at the hotel talking and watching a little TV.
Monday morning Ashley met us at the hotel and we went to get Caribou coffee & tea. We said our good byes and reluctantly headed home.

Wednesday Update
I can't wait for the working part of today to get done. Then I will be on vacation until next Tuesday! After work today I plan to mow the yard. Tomorrow I will try to get part of the garden in. I may also bake some cookies for the weekend. Tomorrow is also our 3rd anniversary. We just plan to spend it together, we already have a big enough weekend planned. Hopefully Doug's allergies will settle down a bit so he can actually enjoy himself. I also hope to find a little time to do some shopping at Mall of America. It will be my first time there.

Tuesday Update
Just two days of work left this week. I plan to mow the yard this week and hopefully Thursday will be nice enough to plant the potatoes, some tomatoes, onions, cucumbers and asparagus.
Can't wait to be able to see all of the kids this weekend. We already have the car and rooms reserved. We will visit Thomas and Diedre on his birthday this Friday. We will leave for MN on Saturday morning. Chloe and Raws will drive up Saturday afternoon, after she gets off work. We are looking forward to seeing Ash and Paul too. Mao is not going to be happy when he finds out about this. All is okay, Wanda will pay him a few visits.

Thursday Update
The week is getting close to the end. Tonight is our evening of favorite shows; Big Bang, Community, Parks & Rec and 30 Rock. I received my mother's day gift from Ash on Tuesday, it is river rock heart paper weight. It was hand crafted from Haiti and is very cool. I will post a picture sometime soon.

Monday Update
Yesterday turned out to be a wonderful Mother's Day. We had a good turn out for supper. I was very happy that Chloe and Raws were able to make it. Chloe gave me an awesome gift - 200 Cake Mix Creations cookbook, Recycle lunch bag and a Contigo water bottle with Autoseal Technology. Ashley's gift is yet to come. And of course I wore my Mother's Day necklace Thomas & Diedre gave me all day yesterday, except in the morning when I was cleaning up the last of last years leaves from the front yard and garden. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if all three kids and their others would have made it home. At least we have gotten to see Thomas & Diedre a few times in the past month.

Sunday Update
I mowed the yard yesterday. I haven't done anything in the garden yet, just not feeling it. Thomas and Diedre on the other hand were in full swing yesterday and planted new bushes in the front yard and also planted most of their garden.
Today is Mother's Day, not sure what I plan to do. We will be having people over in the late afternoon for hot dogs, brats, burgers and brat burgers. Should be a good time as always.

Tuesday Update
Had a great weekend. We got to see Thomas Diedre, Chloe and Raws. Thomas & Diedre came to town for the March of Dimes walk on Sunday. We saw Thomas and Diedre for a while on both Saturday and Sunday. They gave me my Mother's Day gift early, a beautiful necklace and a gnome. The gnome looks like a mini-me from my Halloween costume. Raws came by Sunday evening for supper and watched a movie with us. Chloe stopped by after work and watched some TV with us.

Thursday Update
I got my new glasses yesterday after work. I'm still waiting for my computer glasses though. They should be in either today or tomorrow. Then I won't have to work in a fuzz all day anymore.
Not much else is new. I saw the sunshine for a little while yesterday. That was nice and new.

Monday Update
Yesterday turned out to be a very good Easter. Thomas and Diedre came a little early and help with some of the last minute preparation. All of the food was delicious. We had a good turnout with Curt, Andrew, Rawson, Chloe, Mark, Wanda, Amber, Myself and Doug. As usual we had a lot of extra food and I probably won't have to cook much this week. Lots of good leftovers.

Wednesday Update
Happy Wednesday everyone. I am happy to hear that Thomas and Diedre have renewed contracts for next school year. Diedre will also be full time. Congrats Diedre!
Today I am going to the eye doctor for a long over due exam. I do not like bifocals, so I am going to see about getting two pairs, computer glasses and regular glasses.
Last night Doug and I went to Pizza Ranch for supper. We had the Tuscan Tomato Pizza, very yummy. Jennifer was working, so the service was better than usual.

Sunday Update
We had a good Saturday. Went grocery shopping, we picked up chicken and Mojo Potatoes at Hy Vee. Chloe and Rawson came over for supper. We had a nice, but short visit with them. The rest of the evening was spent just watching TV. It has been a relaxing few days of vacation and I actually did find time to clear a few leaves around the house. Although it was too cold to do everything I wanted to do outside.

Wednesday Update
Today is my Friday this week, I have vacation Thurs & Fri. Last night Doug and I decided to go out for supper. We went to our new favorite restaurant, Fiesta Del Sol. I had the Chicken Popeye (Grilled chicken breast with spinach, mushrooms, sauteed onions and green chile. Served with rice and beans.) It was very tasty. We got home just in time to watch the first episode of the new Deadliest Catch season.

Friday Update
Happy Friday everyone!
It should be a good day. We are almost caught up on emails at work!
This evening Thomas and Diedre will be joining us for supper. We will be having French Onion Soup and not sure what else we will be serving yet.
Last night we went to Fiesta Del Sol for supper. It was very good! They actually messed up Doug's order, but what they brought him was very good, he ended up with steak, shrimp and other goodies.

Monday Update
We had a good cook out yesterday. Hot Dogs, Jumbo Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Pork Burgers, Chicken Brats and Grilled Pork Loin. We also had Broccoli & Tomato Salad, Baked Beans, Spinach Dip and Crackers(Wanda), Tato Skins(Sara & Jacob), Carmelita Bars and Minty Eggs(Ana).
Guests included; Curt, Sara, Jacob, Nick, Ana, Alex, Mark & Wanda. Alex was really enjoying the food, he seems to be a very good eater. Mark and Wanda could not stay long, as they had to get back to their floor installation. Nick and Ana played Pentago with me.

Sunday Update
Having a great weekend. Thomas was in town and stopped by in the afternoon on Saturday for a visit with us. We had a wonderful supper together. Doug cooked steaks and shrimp on the grill. We also had scalloped potatoes and salad. Thomas made desert in the Dutch oven, it was a Dump Cobbler with blackberries. Unfortunately, we did not get to see Diedre as she was busy with "the girls". Shower and bachelorette party for Kirsten.

Tuesday Update
Yesterday was very long... After a long day at work 6:45AM - 5:40PM, I got home and we decided to take Blue to Walmart and get new tires. We also took Puck to see why one tire almost went flat over the weekend. We got there about 6:45 and they told use it would be 8:30 or 9 before we could get both cars back. We walked around the store for a little while. Then headed back to the tire dept. to see how things were going. They still weren't done, so I went to get a Kit Kat that I had been craving. It ended up the tire on Puck had a back seal, they tried to charge us for that, even though they were the one's who installed the tire only 2 weeks ago. Doug got them to refund us for that. Then we decided to eat at McDonald's since it was getting late and I was hungry. That was a bad idea, I really did not enjoy the food. We finished eating and had just gotten back into Puck, when Walmart called and said Blue was finished. We also stopped to get gas in Blue on the way home, I'm glad to see the price of gas went done a little $3.37 a gal. We got home around 9. It was actually a longer story than this, but I shortened some things because I did not have time or feel like typing it all out.

Friday Update
We had a fun time last night at the Fieldhouse with Doug's brothers, Curt and Tim. Doug even had a couple green beers. We stayed for supper, I had a Reuben which wasn't too bad. We left around 9, I went home to Mao and bed and Doug went over to Curt's. I'm not sure what time he got home. Curt kept it a surprise that Tim was going to be here, but Doug had an idea that something was up.

It is so gloomy out this morning. I am looking forward to warmer weather and sunny skies. Speaking of sunny skies, I am missing all of my children. Chloe and Raws are in CO., Ashley and Paul seem so far away in MN. and Thomas and Diedre, so close yet so far away in Eldora. We need to do a big family Skype soon.

Monday Update
We had a great birthday meal for Wanda yesterday. We had Gumbo-laya, Dutch Oven Crusty Bread, Amber's Chipotle Cheese Ball, Amber's Carrot Cake, and Chloe decorated a Chocolate Cake. We also had wine and Glögg. I wanted to add pictures, but upload errors would not permit. I will need to check with Doug later to see what is happening.
