Tuesday Update

I guess it is time for an update. I don't have much though. The first day back to work after vacation sucked. But I survived. This morning was the lunar eclipse. We all got out of bed at around 4:45 to watch it. Doug had already been up for an hour. It was pretty cool to watch.

Friday Update

Today is our company picnic. We will work until 11 and then the rest of the day is at Beaver Park. We get paid for a whole 8 hours. I hope the food is better than last year and I hope there are some good prizes.

Tuesday Update

I thought we were not going to have a company picnic this year. Yesterday we received an email at work that said we would have a picnic this Friday at Beaver Park from 11-4 and it is mandatory. I think that is a long time for adults to have to spend at the park on a hot humid day. But hey, I might win a prize this year. We get to dress casual the rest of this week, which is great.

Saturday Update

It was fun to see the Gunts last night. However, Tornados is definately not a bar that I want to visit again anytime soon. The seating was poor and I got a stiff neck just turning to talk to people and watching the 'bands'. Of course that could just be because I am old! The french fries were good and so were the poppers. They are going to be at The Mill in IC on August 18. That should be a much better show. And of course, I am really looking forward to They Might Be Giants in September!

Friday Update

We are going to see the Gunts perform tonight. Most of our Sunday group is coming along, it should be a blast. Being back on the customer service phones is not as bad as I thought it would be. I still wish I could be doing order management instead. On the up side, I was smokin' in sales yesterday and it will be good to get commissions again.

Wednesday Update

I am not looking forward to today at work. It is the first day that I have to go back to doing my old job. I dislike having to sell to people on the phone and customers can get so grumpy. I hope it is not a busy day.

Monday Update

Not much to update about. We are finally getting tomatoes from the garden. They are beautiful. We are also getting plenty of cucumbers, even though we are not pickling this summer. The cucumber salad and dressing is very good. I can't wait to try our first yellow squash tonight in the stir fry.

Saturday Update

Thursday night Doug and I watched a movie called Stranger Than Fiction. It starred Will Farrell. It was excellent and could only have been better if Zack Braff would have selected the music. This morning I am taking Ilse to the farmers market. I hope she enjoys it.

Thursday Update

Today if we take two canned food items to work for the food bank we get to wear jeans. I'm wearing jeans. It is also supposed to be a food day, but I didn't feel like bringing anything to eat. I have Friday off and plan to weed the garden and dye my hair. What a fun filled day that will be.

Saturday Update

It sounds like Thomas and Diedre are having fun on their mini vacation. Last night they went to the dog track and bet on a couple of dogs. They didn't lose too much and had fun. I am very worried about Doug, he may have broken his hand when he fell yesterday. I hope he doesn't have as much pain today.

Wednesday Update

Wow, what a storm early yesterday morning. Mark and Wanda had a huge branch split from the tree in thier back yard. After I got off work we went over to take pictures. Mark's brother was using a chain saw to cut it in pieces. It had reached from the tree clear over to the fence on the other side of the yard and touched the house by the back door. No damage to the house and only a small chunk of wood was broken off from the fence. A piece of branch even landed on the roof of Subway. Most of our tomato plants were knocked over on thier side. Luckily none of them were damaged much and only two tomatoes actually feel off. We had a few branches come down in our front yard. We had thought they were very big until we went to Mark and Wanda's.

Monday Update

That was a fast three day weekend. Yesterday's Birthday Bash for Chloe was wonderful. Lots of people showed up, the food was fantastic and the fire was great. Diedre made the best ice cream cake ever.
